About Us

DanceSport Boston is owned and operated by Anne Marie and John Paul. They have been teaching Ballroom Dance since 1984 and 1981 respectively. Anne Marie and John competed in the American Rhythm and Smooth Divisions as professional competitors consistently achieving finalist positions.

Anne Marie and John are current faculty members in the Boston University Dance Department teaching Ballroom Dance for both credit and non-credit courses. They typically perform in the fall semester Faculty Showcase to help highlight the diverse dance programs offered at Boston University. In addition to their activities at Boston University they maintain their own full time schedule of teaching and preparing their own students for both social and competitive levels of ballroom dancing.

History

"DanceSport Boston" was established in 1994. Our initial years doing business included teaching Ballroom Dance, vending top quality Ballroom Music CD's to our industry peers at DanceSport Competition venues and to our students. We have continued those activities, developed an additional teaching location in Weymouth, Massachusetts, added the service of supplying Ballroom Dance Shoes, and established our regular monthly Saturday Evening Ballroom Dance™ in the South Shore in Weymouth, MA.

Our Future Includes...

DanceSport Boston's new state of the art Oceanview Ballroom with a fabulous 3840 square foot floating ballroom dance floor. We will be a part of the new Nantasket Performing Arts Center which will be opening in 2008. The center will include voice & musical instrument instruction studios, a recording studio, classical dance space, the performing arts theater with private luxury boxes, guest suite garden apartments for guest performers, a private function facility for receptions and special events and the LegaSea Lounge; an upscale after dinner/show meeting space with live entertainment and gourmet appetizers and desserts.
